Bacteria Information
- Bacteria are prokaryotes (rather than eukaryotes) because they have visibly no internal structure, importantly no nucleus.
- They were the first disease causing microbes ever discovered.
- They are so small that they can only be seen with one of the most powerful micorscopes.
- There are three main shapes: rod-shaped, spherical, and spiral.
